The benefits include:
- Convert part numbers from a long cumbersome format, to a simple easy-to-enter format.
- The part number change includes all datasets in MG, Omar, Shipping History, and Accounts Payable.
- The part number is changed in the manufacturing Transaction Log records.
- For users that use top level bills of material (TOPFIL), an Omar utility to change product numbers that do not reside in Manufacturing is provided.
- You may change the part number to another part number that is already on file. This 'merges' the history of the two part numbers on to a single part number. This feature is especially helpful if two part numbers were initially set up for nearly identical material, and now only a single part number is needed.
- Assists you with your data cleansing or preparation for migration.
The Part Number Change Utility consists of two fortran commands:
- 1) MG,UT,175 - Part Number Change Utility.
- 2) OM,UT,175 - Product Number Change Utility for Top Level BOM (TOPFIL) Products.
