The Component Obsolescence Utility eliminates the guesswork as to when the phase out the component. The system is designed to be a use up and replace feature for your components. The system has the following features:
- Enter a 'pending' bill of material change
- Trigger bill of material changes when the component's inventory falls to zero or the inventory level you set.
- Phase out a component for selected assemblies or all assemblies
- Has the ability to set the obsolete date of the component
- Has the ability to add a newly effective replacement component
- "Push" the obsolete date out into the future if the component's inventory level has not fallen by the date you estimate.
- "Pull" the obsolete date back to today if the component's inventory level has fallen faster than your estimate.
- A "Warn Only" option tells the user when it is time to make the change if they do not want the utility to update automatically or there are special circumstances.
- A status report is always available to view the quantity on hand, quantity available, any open work orders, purchase orders, or MRP planned orders for the components you wish to phase out.
